Off-Farm Sources of Stray Voltage

The neutral conductor on the farm is generally connected to the utility's neutral. This bond is made to protect both the customer's electrical wiring and the utility's distribution system in case lightning strikes the power lines, a transformer, or any part of the farm.

However, this connection opens the door to off -farm stray voltages. Off-farm sources can be caused by:
